Why did the company’s founders
name their rum Matusalem?

Benjamin and Eduardo Camp and their partner Evaristo Alvarez believed the key to crafting the finest tasting rum was a patient aging process. The name, Matusalem, derives from the old Spanish proverb, “Esto es mas viejo que Matusalem” (It’s older than Mathuselah). Mathuselah is the Old Testament patriarch who lived for 969 years.
