period marked Cubas Golden Age
of Cocktails?
The period spanning the mid-1930s to the early 1950s
was an era in which Cuba was a favorite destination
for tourists who were attracted to the island nations
glamorous and exciting nightlife. During this era, Matusalem
was Cubas most popular rum, holding a market share
greater than 50 percent. This Golden Age abruptly ended
with the ascension of the Castro revolution.
